Why not use a site with free web
site design software?
There are two
very good reasons to stay away from it.
First, all free web site design software
is extremely limited. You simply can't do the things with it that you can
with professional products. All you can do is what the software allows,
and that's it. New technology is coming out daily to enhance the web
users experience and the web site owners productivity, and most of those
products cannot be incorporated into free design software. It is, simply
put, the quick fix for the individual who wants to put up a lack-luster web site
while learning nothing. Most of the sites we've seen utilizing this type
of software are by far and away the tackiest sites on the net.
Secondly, when it comes time to transfer your site to another host, (for whatever
the reason), you can't. The software only works on the server on which it's set
up. So you'll have to start designing your site all over again from scratch, and go
through another learning curve anyway!
So why not start out the right way to
begin with? Learn a simple web design product like FrontPage,
and you can utilize all the add-ons, plug-ins, java script snippets, etc., that
your heart desires. You can also go on from there if you'd like to learn
more upscale products like Flash and DreamWeaver. And if it is ever time
to transfer your site to another host, it's a simple matter to upload it to the
new one. Boom! Done!
The bottom line is that Spaghetti-O's are
indeed quick and easy. But do they compare to a home cooked spaghetti
dinner, and would you want to serve them to a prospective client at a business
dinner?
